Digital Desk: A 32-year-old dad allegedly choked his 12-year-old son and dumped his body in a nearby water tank in the Kolar district of Karnataka. The boy had revealed his father's IPL betting addiction to his mother.
According to reports, the accused has been identified as Manikanta and he is a barber. The police said that the son, named Nikhil Kumar, told his mother about his father's addiction to IPL betting and the huge financial losses, which infuriated the accused.
The accused lost a huge amount of money during the IPL season. Nikhil, the victim, noticed many money lenders visiting his father's store and demanding payments. He told his mother about this information, who questioned the accused, leading to a major fight between the two, police claimed.
Enraged over it, the accused on Tuesday faked dropping off his son at school by motorcycle and committed the crime. According to the police, he choked the boy to death close to the village of Setty Madamangala's water tank in the Kolar district. He later dumped of the body in the water tank.
