"Manish Sisodia is the nation's top education minister," says Kejriwal after CBI raid at Deputy CM’s house

The CBI raided Sisodia's home, as well as 21 other places in the city...

Digital Desk: Hours, after the CBI raided the house of Delhi Deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia, chief minister Arvind Kejriwal congratulated the nation on a news piece published by the American newspaper New York Times on the changes in Delhi's education policy and ground reality since the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) came to power.

The CBI raided Sisodia's home, as well as 21 other places in the city, on the grounds of corruption in the implementation of the AAP government's new excise policy. L-G VK Saxena urged a CBI probe into the case in July of this year.

In his eight-minute speech, Kejriwal just briefly addressed the raid and instead concentrated on the New York Times article and the initiative he had just unveiled on Wednesday to "make India the number one country in the world."

"Today, I have some good news to share with you. The US is the world's most industrialized and powerful nation. The New York Times is the largest publication there. The front page of yesterday's NYT featured a report on Delhi's educational system. It claims that government schools in Delhi are undergoing an educational revolution. It claims that schools are getting better and that kids from private schools are switching to public ones. All Indians should be proud of this. Manish Sisodia's picture dominates the front page of this story. Every world leader wants this," Kejriwal said.

Talking about Sisodia, Kejriwal said, "Today, Manish Sisodia was named the best education minister in the world.  However, the CBI is searching for him. In our quest to become the best country in the world, there will be a number of obstacles. Manish Sisodia has previously been the target of raids. Several fabricated cases have been brought against him, Satyendar Jain, and me. They won't uncover anything. Allow the CBI to carry out its duties; it has been given directives."

Since it began campaigning for elections in Delhi in 2013, the Aam Aadmi Party has focused on improving the quality of schools and education. Kejriwal said that the nation as a whole should be proud of the NYT's commendation.

"Manish Sisodia is the nation's top education minister. I can't recall the last time a nice piece about India graced the front page of the New York Times. The last Indian news item I can recall was on the high number of Covid fatalities there," The Delhi CM said.

Speaking about the campaign, Kejriwal stated that the party would be releasing a phone number to which people could make a missed call to join the mission.

"Just the day before yesterday, we said that we would begin a mission to elevate India to the top position. That has begun. It will happen, but it will take time. In order to make it happen, we will cooperate. Even though India gained its independence 75 years ago, people still wonder why we aren't at the top. This will never occur if we continue to support the same old parties. We won't ever rise... I'm launching a number today called 9510001000. Call this number if you wish to join the effort to make India the number one country. Spread the word, let people know, and invite them, he said.
