Mumbai Police Investigating Gunshots Heard Near Salman Khan's Home

Mumbai Police escalated Mr Khan's security status to Y+ and issued a lookout circular (LOC) against an Indian student in the United Kingdom

Digital Desk: Mumbai Police have launched an investigation after gunshots were heard outside Bollywood actor Salman Khan's residence in Bandra early this morning. At 5 am, two unidentified men on a motorcycle fired five rounds in the air and fled the scene. A bullet also hit the first floor of the building where Mr Khan resides, with a foreign pistol used in the firing.

The incident comes after the National Investigation Agency (NIA) revealed that Mr Khan was one of the 10 main targets of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, due to the actor's involvement in the 1998 black buck hunting incident, which offended the Bishnoi community. Bishnoi's henchman, Sampat Nehra, had reportedly surveilled Mr Khan's Bandra residence, indicating a potential threat.

In response to previous threats, Mumbai Police escalated Mr Khan's security status to Y+ and issued a lookout circular (LOC) against an Indian student in the United Kingdom for allegedly sending a threatening email to the actor.

Mumbai Police are currently working to track down the individuals responsible for the gunshots. The incident highlights the importance of maintaining security measures for high-profile individuals, particularly those who have received threats in the past.
