    Digital Desk: The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) busted an India-Afghanistan drug syndicate and seized approximately 50 kg of "high-quality" heroin from the Shaheen Bagh area of Jamia Nagar in one of the largest narcotics seizures in Delhi.

    According to the federal anti-narcotics agency, the NCB also seized 47 kg of other suspected drugs and Rs 30 lakh in cash. The NCB raid on Wednesday also resulted in the arrest of one person.

    "The drugs entered the country via an India-Afghanistan drug syndicate that was busted. More research is being conducted "NCB Deputy Director General (Operations) Sanjay Kumar Singh was quoted as reported by a news agency.

    As per the report, The drugs were stored in backpacks and jute bags, which were wrapped in packets from e-commerce giant Flipkart and other companies. According to a senior officer, the syndicate's "kingpin" is based in Dubai.

    The NCB and Gujarat ATS seized 35 kg of heroin on Wednesday after busting an Afghanistan-India narcotics smuggling ring based in Uttar Pradesh's Muzaffarnagar district.

    According to the NCB, the Gujarat anti-terrorism squad shared a tip-off about the syndicate, and the two agencies intercepted two Muzaffarnagar residents in Delhi, with approximately 1 kg of heroin recovered from their vehicle.

    A cache of 34 kg of heroin and 2.75 kg of acetic anhydride (a chemical used in drug manufacturing) was recovered from a Muzaffarnagar storage facility.
