NIA officials claim that Dawood Ibrahim, a wanted man in India for terrorist activities, is building a special team there to smuggle weapons, explosives, drugs, and counterfeit money.
Digital Desk: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has announced a cash reward for Dawood Ibrahim, an underworld don, at Rs. 25 lakh, and for Chhota Shakeel, at Rs 20. A cash reward of Rs 15 lakh has also been offered by the investigation agency for the capture of additional D-Company members such as Tiger Memon, Anees Ibrahim, and Javed Chikna.
NIA officials claim that Dawood Ibrahim, a wanted man in India for terrorist activities, is building a special team there to smuggle weapons, explosives, drugs, and counterfeit money. According to reports, the US-designated global terrorist is collaborating with Pakistan's spy service Inter-Services Intelligence on preparations to carry out terrorist acts in India (ISI).
It is to be noted that along with supporting sleeper cells of Jaish e Mohammed (JeM), Al Qaeda, and Lashakar e Taiba (LeT) to conduct strikes in Indian cities, the special unit of D Gang also intends to launch targeted attacks on certain political personalities and businessmen.
The NIA claimed in a statement on Thursday that Dawood Ibrahim, who has been recognised as a global terrorist by the UN under UN Security Resolution 1257 and is also included on the fourth schedule of the UAPA Act 1967, "runs a worldwide terrorist network called D-Company."
The NIA conducted raids earlier this year at a number of locations related to Dawood Ibrahim. According to a news release from the agency, "various incriminating items, including electronic devices, documentation of investments in real estate, cash, and firearms, were confiscated during the searches conducted today at the locations of the suspected associates of Dawood Ibrahim."
