Noida reports 120 new cases. Has the Covid 4th wave effect started?

As the number of active coronavirus cases in Gautam Buddh Nagar rises daily, the total number of active cases now stands at 656.

Digital Desk: As Covid-19 infections resurface in some parts of India, Uttar Pradesh's Noida recorded 120 new cases on Monday (April 25), accounting for more than 55% of the state's total infections in a single day.

According to the latest figures, the total number of active cases in Gautam Buddh Nagar is 656. Since the Covid-19 pandemic broke out in March 2020, up to 490 people have died in the district.

However, Uttar Pradesh recorded 210 new coronavirus cases on Monday, bringing the total number of active cases in the state to 1,277.

Amid an increase in coronavirus cases, residents can call the health department's helpline at 1800492211 for any Covid-19-related assistance, according to the health department.

To halt the spread of the coronavirus, over a thousand people were fined in Noida and Greater Noida on the same day for allegedly not wearing face masks in public places.

"Action is also being taken against those who do not follow the rules," a police spokesperson said on Monday. "On Sunday, challans were issued to 1,018 people for not wearing masks in public places."

Following an increase in Covid-19 infections in Gautam Buddh Nagar earlier this month, the Uttar Pradesh government made wearing face masks mandatory.

Meanwhile, in response to the increase in Covid-19 cases, Noida has increased its Covid-19 vaccination campaign. The number of vaccination clinics for children in the district has also increased.
