PM Modi inaugurates the Bundelkhand Expressway in Uttar Pradesh's Jalaun district

The prime minister laid the expressway's foundation stone in February 2020, and the project was completed in 28 months.

Digital Desk: The Bundelkhand Expressway was unveiled on Saturday in the Uttar Pradesh district of Jalaun by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

"The Bundelkhand Expressway demonstrates the development of the Bundelkhand region in real-time. Yogi Adityanath, chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, said it would give the area a new identity and serve as a route for industrial investments.

The Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority built the 296-kilometer-long, four-lane Bundelkhand Expressway for about 14 850 crore rupees (UPEIDA). The prime minister laid the expressway's foundation stone in February 2020, which took 28 months to complete.

"The Bundelkhand Expressway travels through seven districts. The local economy will gain a lot as a result. In addition, the prime minister tweeted on Friday that the region will experience significant industrial growth, increasing job opportunities for young people in the area.

The Agra-Lucknow Expressway merges with the expressway at Etawah, where it begins in Bharatkoop in Chitrakoot. It cuts the time needed to get from Chitrakoot to Delhi by 40%. Delhi could now be reached in six hours as opposed to the previous ten hours.
