    Murmu received 2,824 votes with a value of 6,76,803 while her opponent Yashwant Sinha secured 1,877 votes with a value of 3,80,177. A total of 4,809 MPs and MLAs cast their votes in the polling that took place on July 18.

    Digital Desk: President-elect Droupadi Murmu will take oath as the 15th President of India on Monday. The swearing-in ceremony will be held at the Central Hall of the Parliament House in Delhi at 10.15 am on Monday, the Ministry of Home Affairs stated.

    Murmu will take the oath of office as president under the supervision of Chief Justice of India NV Ramana.

    Following the event, there will be a 21-Gun Salute. Following that, Murmu will give a speech as India's 15th president.

    Here are the key details of the schedule for the day: 

    8.15 am: President-elect Droupadi Murmu will leave her temporary residence at Uma Shankar Dixit Lane for Rajghat.
    8.30 am: The President-elect will arrive at Rajghat and offers floral tributes.
    8.40 am: Murmu will return to her residence.
    9.22 am: The President-elect will reach the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
    9.42 am: A ceremonial function will be conducted in the Forecourt of Rashtrapati Bhawan
    9.50 am: The President-elect will leave in a ceremonial Presidential convoy for Parliament.
    10 am: Murmu will arrive at Parliament.
    10.15 am: The President-elect will take the oath of office. It will be followed by a 21-gun salute.
    10.23 am: President Murmu will address the gathering in the Central Hall
    10.57 am: President Murmu will return to the Rashtrapati Bhawan in a ceremonial procession.


    Droupadi Murmu will become the 10th successive President of India to take the oath on July 25 since 1977 with the taking of the oath of office.

    Rajendra Prasad, India's first president took the oath of office on January 26, 1950, the day the country became a republic.

    On July 25, 1977, Neelam Sanjiva Reddy, India's sixth president, took the oath of office. Since that time, on July 25, nine presidents have taken the oath in succession. It includes Ram Nath Kovind, Pratibha Patil, APJ Abdul Kalam, Giani Zail Singh, R Venkataraman, Shankar Dayal Sharma, and KR Narayanan.
