Digital Desk: According to Acharya Pramod Krishnam, ousted Congress leader, Rahul Gandhi reportedly pledged to reverse the Supreme Court's decision regarding the Ayodhya Ram Mandir, similar to how the Rajiv Gandhi-led government acted after the Shah Bano judgment. Krishnam stated that Gandhi made this assertion during a meeting with close advisors shortly after the Supreme Court's ruling in 2019 on the Ayodhya Ram Janmabhoomi title dispute.

Krishnam mentioned to ANI that during the meeting, Rahul Gandhi proposed the formation of a commission to annul the Ram Mandir verdict once the Congress government is in power, drawing a parallel to Rajiv Gandhi's response to the Shah Bano decision. Rajiv Gandhi's government had nullified the Shah Bano verdict through legislation in Parliament.

In the wake of Krishnam's assertions, attention has been drawn to his recent claims about the potential division of the Congress party into factions led by Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. Krishnam expressed concerns over Rahul Gandhi's departure from Amethi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra's decision not to contest elections, predicting a possible split within the party. He suggested that Rahul Gandhi should consider contesting from Rawalpindi instead of Raebareli due to his growing popularity in Pakistan.

“The way Rahul Gandhi has left Amethi, Congress party workers’ morale is down. Priyanka Gandhi not contesting the election, this is now taking the shape of a volcano in the hearts of her supporters that will erupt after June 4. Congress will again be split into two factions, one of Rahul Gandhi and the other of Priyanka Gandhi… I think Rahul Gandhi should contest from Rawalpindi instead of Raebareli, as his popularity and demand are increasing in Pakistan,” Krishnam had said last week, as quoted by Finacial Express.
