Arun Kumar, the Station House Officer in Charge of Nooranad police station in
Kerala's Alappuzha district, is the cop in the viral video. When the attack
happened, he was on an evening patrol with his driver.

Nooranad resident, was identified as the assailant. Before being subdued,
Sugathan managed to stab the police officer in the hand.

the two males were seen sliding to the ground on film. After the cop was able
to subdue Sugathan, onlookers who had witnessed the attack came to his help.

the incident took place near Para Junction at 6pm on Sunday.

on his hand in the attack which required seven stitches.
