Directorate (ED) issued fresh notices to Congress President Sonia Gandhi and
her son and MP Rahul Gandhi in the National Herald case, Shiv Sena MP
Sanjay Raut on Sunday targeted the BJP-led government at the Centre,
saying that some people’s souls won’t be gratified till Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru
gets notices from the ED and the CBI.
The Shiv Sena MP further said that
questions had been raised over the hundreds of crores of rupees allegedly
deposited in the BJP’s coffers from the PM Cares Fund.
"The Congress may have made some
transactions to sustain Pandit Nehru’s organisation (Nehru founded the National
Herald). Many organisations do similar transactions in the Sangh Parivar.
Questions have been raised over the hundreds of crores of rupees deposited in
the BJP’s coffers from the PM Cares Fund. But Nehru’s Herald has become a
criminal. "Some people’s souls will be satisfied only after Nehru gets
notices from the ED and the CBI," Raut wrote in his weekly column in
Saamana. "Now, in this case, it would not be a surprise if a notice is issued
to Nehru and is pasted on his memorial," he added.
The Sena MP further said that the
National Herald was not started for profit but as part of the freedom movement.
"There is no money laundering in this entire case. However, the ED has got
involved with the case," Raut wrote.
Meanwhile, the Sena leader on Sunday
asked whether Prime Minister Narendra Modi would promote a sequel of the
‘Kashmir Files’ based on the situation in the Valley currently. Raut’s
statement comes a day after CM Uddhav Thackeray expressed concern about the
"targeted killings of Hindus and Kashmiri Pandits".
