recent instance, a well-known musician from the Uttar Pradesh region of
Muzaffarnagar was the target of hatred by Muslim fanatics.

Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, resident named Farmani Naaz has come under fire
after posting a Shiv Bhajan online. The Deoband Ulema was enraged at the Shiva
song "Har Har Shambhu" and encouraged Farmani to avoid it.

Naaz
uploaded the Shiv Bhajan "Har-Har Shambhu...Shiva Mahadev" on YouTube
in the month of Sawan. Millions of people have seen, heard, and loved it.

Farmani, a singer, asserted that as an
artist, he is required to sing a range of songs. She asserted that she also
sings qawwali and devotional songs because a musician is not bound by any
single religion. Naaz clearly expressed her disapproval of the Ulema's and
anyone else's resistance to this. She claimed to the media that Hindu Muslims are not necessary for the artist to create her art.
