SpiceJet cargo flight to China returns to Kolkata after weather radar stops working

SpiceJet's Boeing 737 freighter (cargo plane) was supposed to fly from Kolkata to Chongqing on Tuesday, July 5.

Digital Desk: SpiceJet experienced yet another technical issue on Tuesday when the weather radar on one of its flights to China broke down.

SpiceJet's Boeing 737 freighter (cargo plane) was supposed to fly from Kolkata to Chongqing on Tuesday, July 5. The pilot in control chose to return to Kolkata because the weather radar stopped operating after takeoff. According to a SpiceJet spokeswoman, the aircraft touched down safely in Kolkata.

A SpiceJet jet made a "normal landing" earlier on Tuesday when an indicator light malfunctioned at Jinnah International Airport in Pakistan's Karachi. According to SpiceJet, the flight from Delhi to Dubai arrived at the airport in Karachi without incident, and no emergency was reported.
