Digital Desk: The Uttar Pradesh government has stated that the state will soon begin teaching engineering and MBBS courses in Hindi as well. The announcement comes just days after Home Minister Amit Shah unveiled India's first MBBS book in Hindi, which will be released on October 16, 2022.

As per the tweet published by Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath, work on translating texts for medical education and engineering is already underway.

"Some medical and engineering books in Uttar Pradesh have been translated into Hindi," stated the CM.  He further stated that in the coming years, same courses and books will be available in Hindi.

"From the coming year, the courses in these subjects will be available in the universities and colleges of the state to be studied in Hindi also," read the official statement issued.

On October 16, 2022, Home Minister Amit Shah will launch India's first Hindi MBBS textbook at Gandhi Medical College in Bhopal. With this, Madhya Pradesh becomes the first state in the country to implement medical education in Hindi for MBBS aspirants.

As of now, three subjects in Madhya Pradesh have been chosen to be studied in Hindi. These include biochemistry, physiology, and anatomy. According to reports, a group of 97 experts from Gandhi Medical College in Bhopal prepared these Hindi MBBS books. The entire process of translating the curriculum from English to Hindi took 232 days.

Last month, the Home Minister also stated that first-semester students at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Vishwavidyalaya in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, will be permitted to study medicine in Hindi.
