    The third trial of the Vande Bharat train, which travels from Ahmedabad to Mumbai, outpaced bullet trains.

    Digital Desk: Breaking bullet train records, the third trial of the semi-high speed train Vande Bharat concluded its voyage between Ahmedabad and Mumbai on Friday. 

    Vande Bharat accelerated from 0 to 100 kmph in 52 seconds.

    According to Indian Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, the Railway Safety Commissioner has given the organisation a green signal. The third Vande Bharat's top speed of 180 km/h is noteworthy.

    In comparison to the bullet train, it took 52 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometres per hour. The initial Vande Bharat trains have a top speed of 160 kmph and can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 54.6 seconds, the speaker continued. Its quicker acceleration was made possible by a 38-ton weight decrease.

    Features of Vande Bharat:


    • There will be more amenities for passenger comfort on the new train. 
    • It will weigh 290 tonnes instead of 430 tonnes and feature a three-hour battery backup. 
    • The ride index, which measures the comfort of the ride, has been raised to 3.2.

    The minister announced that in addition to wifi-enabled content on demand, the train will have 32-inch LCD TVs, an upgrade from the older versions' 24 inch screens.


    -The upgraded model will provide 15% more energy-efficient ACs and dust-free, pure air cooling of the traction motor for a more comfortable ride.


    - All classes will now have access to the side recliner seat feature that is currently only offered to Executive Class passengers.


    - The Roof Mounted Package Unit (RMPU) of the train's new design has an air purification system that uses photo-catalytic ultraviolet light.


    - This system is constructed and placed on both ends of RMPU as advised by the Central Scientific Instruments Organisation (CSIO), Chandigarh, to filter and purge the germs, bacteria, viruses, etc.


    Vande Bharat is notable for being the nation's first high-speed train. These recently produced trains will have a maximum speed of 160 kmph and a test speed of 180 kmph. There are currently two trains running between New Delhi and Vaishnodevi Katra and between New Delhi and Varanasi.
