Both India and Pakistan are nuclear powers
Digital Desk: In the wake of the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which led to escalated tensions between India and Pakistan, both nuclear-armed nations, could face war, potentially consisting of nuclear weapons. The Pakistan Defence Minister issued a statement of reassurance to both countries, amidst the fears.
While, earlier Pakistani Railway minister stated 130 nuclear weapons could be employed against India, yet Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif denied that a nuclear war was probable. According to Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, the present situation does not indicate a potential nuclear exchange in this ongoing conflict. The leaders of Pakistan and India possess nuclear power, yet both countries believe the conflict will stop short of using their atomic weapons.
He further stated Pakistan would not begin any attack, but if India's strikes, there will be retaliation. The Defence Minister conveyed on Friday that global entities should monitor escalating tensions because nuclear warfare could easily erupt from these circumstances.
The Pakistani Minister Hanif Abbasi made open threats through public media during an interview because Pakistan focused its nuclear inventory consisting of 130 warheads across Shaheen and Ghaznavi missiles on targeting India. The Minister announced, trimmed his remark by stating, "These weapons — Shaheen Ghaznavi, along with their counterparts, remain operational, not warehoused on shelves."
Weapons of Pakistan specifically target India. The missiles remain hidden throughout Pakistan’s territory because nobody knows their exact locations. During public appearances, I have repeatedly stated that our missiles stand ready as direct targets aimed at you.
