Kajal had been having toothaches for the past four to five days. But her husband was unable to take her to the doctor as he was busy with farming and sowing works.
Digital Desk: A woman allegedly killed her seven-month-old son and later committed suicide by consuming poison at Chital village near Amreli town on Saturday.
According to reports, the deceased was identified as 30-year-old Kajal Savaliya, wife of Tushar Savaliya who is a farmer, and their son Jayvir.
When Kajal was home alone, she first gave the poison to her son before eating it herself. When the woman took the drastic action, Tushar and her in-laws were out attending a religious event, according to the police.
According to Amreli's deputy superintendent of police (DSP), J P Bhandari, this information showed that Kajal took her and her son's lives after a minor dispute with her husband.
Kajal had been having toothaches for the past four to five days. But her husband was unable to take her to the doctor as he was busy with farming and sowing works, DSP said, as quoted by TOI.
"It is believed that she went out of her way to resolve this conflict. Furthermore, the deceased woman's parents have not yet filed any charges of domestic abuse or harassment against her in-laws, "Bhandari added.
According to the police, when her husband, Tushar, and her mother-in-law left to attend the religious event, Kajal locked herself in a room.
Kajal did not open the door when they returned after attending the function, in spite of several knocks.
Tushar then called some workers from the nearby cow shelter, who assisted him in opening the door and found Kajal and Jayvir unconscious in the room. They also noticed a bottle of poison on the floor, the reports claimed.
It may be mentioned that Kajal and her son were rushed to be taken to a nearby hospital, but declared brought dead by doctors.
