The statue was built by Tat Padam Sansthan and is located 45 kilometers from Udaipur. After the statue's inauguration, a number of religious, spiritual, and cultural events will be held over nine days, from October 29 to November 6, according to Madan Paliwal, the chairman of the Miraj group and a trustee for the Sansthan. Throughout the nine days, religious preacher Morari Bapu will also narrate the Ram Katha.
"This magnificent statue of Lord Shiva installed in the city of Shreenathji will provide a new dimension to religious tourism," Paliwal said.
The monument, which is situated on a mountaintop over a region of 51 bighas and is designed in a meditative pose, is believed to be visible from 20 kilometers away. According to Jaiprakash Mali, the program's spokesperson, the statue has been illuminated with special lights so that it can be seen clearly at night as well.
"This is the highest Shiva idol in the world, with lifts, steps, and a devotee hall built inside. To enter, there are four lifts and three staircases," he said.
Three thousand tonnes of steel and iron, as well as 2.5 lakh cubic tonnes of cement and sand, were used in its construction, which took ten years. The project's foundation was laid in August 2012, in the presence of Ashok Gehlot, who was the CM at the time, and Morari Bapu.
Mali claimed that the statue was constructed to survive 250 years and can withstand winds of up to 250 kmph.
"This statue's design has undergone wind tunnel testing in Australia," he added.
In addition to bungee jumping, zip lines, and go-kart racing, the area around the statue will also feature a food court, an adventure park, and a jungle cafe for visitors to enjoy their time.
