Arunachal Pradesh set to cast votes in simulteneous polls, chief electoral officer vows free and fair election
Webcasting capabilities will be installed in 750 polling places.....

Digital desk: Speaking to the media today, Arunachal Pradesh's Chief Electoral Officer, Pawan Kumar Sain, discussed the extensive arrangements made for the upcoming elections. Arunachal Pradesh is ready for a big election, with 2226 polling places set up around the state.

With 100% coverage of photo electoral rolls, Arunachal Pradesh guarantees the integrity of the electoral process. Out of the wide range of polling places, the Under 59 Longding precinct has the most voters—1462—while Hayuliang Malogaon has just one voter who is a female.

Even the most isolated parts of the state—those above 30,000 feet in altitude, for example—are represented, despite having the lowest voting participation. The goal of the Election Commission's broad awareness campaigns is to increase voter participation and comprehension of the electoral process by concentrating on Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and Voter Verified Paper Audit Trails (VVPATs).

The integrity of the voting infrastructure has been ensured with the successful completion of the first round of EVM checking, which involved all national parties and was made possible by technological developments. Webcasting capabilities will be installed in 750 polling places, providing real-time tracking and transparency during the election process.

Women's participation in the next elections is on the rise; 153 polling places will be led by female representatives, a notable increase from the 91 stations in the previous elections, underscoring the progress made towards inclusivity and gender representation. Notably, 480 polling places will be supervised by people with disabilities (PWD), a historic first for the state.

Chief Electoral Officer Pawan Kumar Sain revealed substantial seizures, which included the discovery of 378 illegal firearms and unaccounted for monies totaling Rs 3.88 crores. Strict measures will be implemented to guarantee the safe depositing of the 33,996 licensed firearms that are currently in the state in order to uphold law and order throughout the election process.

Critical voting places have been identified in advance of any obstacles, and extensive procedures for law enforcement and communication have been implemented. For material management and postal ballot logistics, Leken Koyu and RK Sona have been assigned, respectively.
