Chief Justice S. Vaidyanathan of the Meghalaya High Court administered the oath to the new governor. Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma was also present at the ceremony. On social media, Sangma shared, "Attended the swearing-in ceremony of Shri. C. H. Vijayashankar ji, who assumed office as Governor of Meghalaya today. (sic)"
