    Digital desk: The Chief Electoral Officer of Manipur, Pradeep Kumar Jha, declared that 94 Special Polling Stations have been allocated around the state to enable Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) to cast their ballots. 

    Manipur has two parliamentary constituencies: Inner Manipur LS and Outer Manipur LS, which will hold elections on April 19 and 26. The Outer Manipur Lok Sabha seat is set aside for scheduled tribes.

    Ten candidates in all are running for office: four in the outer seat and six in the inner seat. 

    All of the aid camps received Indian Voter ID Forms, which would make it easier for them to vote on election day. 17425 ID forms have been distributed thus far, and 9875 of those forms were submitted.

    He stated that in the next few days, the number could increase further. 

    Over 61000 people were displaced by the ethnic violence between the Kukis and Meiteis that began on May 3, 2023, and they are currently seeking refuge at several relief camps spread throughout the state, he said.

    In all, 118 model polling stations will be installed around the state, of which 91 will be run only by female poll personnel. 

    Eight hundred and sixty-six polling stations will be run by women, while four polling stations will only be managed by PwD category personnel. 

    2827 of the 13842 Form 12Ds that were issued under the AVPD (Adults with Disabilities) category have been received. A total of 20675 Form 12D were issued under the AVSC category for voters 85 years of age or above; 4726 of those forms have been received. Four 12D forms for basic services were provided, and each one has been submitted. For Service Voters, a total of 12215 ETPBS have been transmitted for 2-0uter Manipur PC, and 9541 postal ballots have been transferred for 1-inner Manipur PC through the Electronically transmitted Postal Ballot System (ETPBS).
