Digital desk: The region witnessed the establishment of its 26th district, Keyi Panyor, following demands from the Nyishi community. With its headquarters set at Ter Gapin-Sam Sarth. Chief Minister Pema Khandu extended his congratulations to the people, emphasizing the district's immense potential in agriculture and horticulture.
He assured the government's support for the district's development, making a commitment to address infrastructural needs. The event saw esteemed dignitaries such as Union Minister for Earth Sciences Kiren Rijiju, Deputy CM Chowna Mein, and MPs Tapir Gao and Nabam Rebia in attendance, underscoring the significance of the occasion.
The creation of Keyi Panyor district was made possible by the passage of the Arunachal Pradesh (Re-Organization of Districts) (Amendment) Bill, 2024, by the state assembly on February 8. This legislative move paved the way not only for Keyi Panyor but also for the forthcoming inauguration of the 27th district, Bichom, slated for early next week.
