Digital Desk: Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh launched the National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA) in the Manipur Assembly on Tuesday, making the assembly activities fully digital and paperless. mNeVA is a user-friendly mobile app of NeVA that is available on Android as well as iOS.

With the launch of NeVA, the Manipur Assembly is becoming a part of Digital Houses and has become the 13th Legislative Assembly to join the platform. “Now, legislatures have been transformed into digital houses. This will be beneficial to the economy and environment,” Biren Singh said.

At the launch of NeVA in the Manipur Legislative Assembly, the Chief Minister said that NeVA aims to transform India into a digitally empowered society and knowledge economy under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He said that the NeVA project was launched to facilitate a paperless assembly and become more transparent, accessible, accountable, and effective in promoting democracy. Mr. Biren added that now the legislatures have been transformed into digital houses, and this will be beneficial to the economy and the environment.

Singh also emphasized the previous launch of the Vahan application of the Transport Department and the digitization and e-Archiving of the Manipur Gazette' on Monday.

NeVA is a member-centric, device-neutral application designed to empower them to manage a variety of house businesses effectively. It does this by storing all member contact information, procedural rules, a list of businesses, notices, bills, starred and unstarred questions and answers, papers laid, committee reports, and more on their tablets or handheld devices, enabling all departments and legislatures to manage it effectively.

NeVA will do away with the need to send out notices or requests for data gathering.
