Digital Desk: Manipur police have reportedly recovered the dead bodies of two unidentified persons, one male and a female in the Kangchup district of the state.

The bodies are suspected to be those of the Kuki wedding party, who were reportedly kidnapped from the Kangchup area, reports stated.

According to reports, the female body was recovered in the area between Tairenpokpi and Atom Khuman, under Lamsang Police Station, Imphal West, with a bullet injury on her head. The body was removed on Wednesday and placed at the RIMS mortuary.

In a separate incident, Iribung Police discovered a dead body of an unidentified man on Wednesday at Takhok Mapl Makha Puruksoubi Loukon Palli in Imphal East.

The police team removed the unidentified man's body at around 11.30 pm and placed it to the JNIMS morgue for postmortem examination and identification.

An FIR case has been lodged for further investigation into the incident.

Meanwhile, four tribal members including the soldier's mother have gone missing since a mob kidnapped them on November 7 when their car stopped at a security checkpoint near Kangchup Chingkhong village in Manipur's Kangpokpi district.

According to sources, the 65-year-old father of an Indian Army man who was the fifth occupant of the car was rescued by security forces, suffered several injuries, and was subsequently sent to a hospital in a critical condition.

However, the soldier is not posted in Manipur, he is a tribal member of the Kuki-Zo community.

The abduction came after a two-hour gun-wielding fight between armed miscreants from the Kuki-Zo and Meitei groups. There were reports of multiple injuries, including passersby.
