Digital Desk: As the entire country celebrated the historic soft landing of the Chandrayaan-3 near the Moon's South Pole, Manipur took pleasure in the accomplishments of its two Meitei scientists who are part of the ISRO's Moon Mission team.
Dr. Ningthoujiam Raghu Singh, from Thanga in Bishnupur district, is one of the ISRO scientists responsible for the momentous Chandrayaan-3 mission, which has elevated India to the ranks of Russia, the United States, and China. Dr Raghu attended IISc Bangalore, IIT-Guwahati, and DM College of Science in Imphal.
While Dr. N Raghu is from Manipur, another Manipur-born scientist supporting the expedition, Y Bishal Singha from Ramnagar Tuko, Silchar, Assam has also made the State proud. Y Bishal Singha is stated to be an ISRO Thermal Systems Engineer who graduated from IIT Guwahati.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister N Biren Singh posted on X (previously Twitter): "It's heartening to share that a scientist from Manipur, Dr.Raghu Ningthoujam, from Thanga, Bishnupur, was part of the Chandrayaan moon landing mission. Our 2000-year history cannot be erased by failures from time to time. No matter how terrible the challenge, the people of Manipur will always come back stronger."
The successful South Pole Moon landing is a huge achievement. According to N Biren Singh, the landing established India as a pioneering nation in achieving this accomplishment.
