    Mizoram Assembly Election: Govt declares Dry days for 48 hours in view of voting on November 7

    Digital Desk: The Mizoram governance announced Dry Day for 48 hours in advance of the November 7 election. 


    According to a notification issued by the State Commission for Excise and Narcotics, dry days will be in force for the entire state of Mizoram for 48 hours. The dry days will go into effect on November 5 at 4 p.m. and will last until November 7 at 4 p.m. 


    Aside from that, another dry day has been set for December 3 to accommodate for the counting of votes. The dry day on counting day will be in force till the counting process is completed, as instructed by the Election Commission of India for the Mizoram General Assembly Election.


    For the same period, the sale and consumption of alcohol in military canteens has been outlawed. 


    The election for the 40-member Mizoram assembly will be held on November 7, and votes will be counted on December 3.
