Digital desk: Prime Minister Modi's two-day visit to Assam started with Kaziranga sightseeing, from there he had to go on a fast-paced tour that will end in Arunachal Pradesh. The day's main event is the opening of the Sela Tunnel Road, a crucial infrastructural project that cost Rs.825 crore to build.

The Sela Tunnel, an example of contemporary engineering skill, was built using the Austrian tunneling technique and is anticipated to improve communication between Balipara, Charidwar, and Tawang, enabling more efficient traffic throughout the area.

Notably, the government's commitment to strengthening infrastructure was demonstrated in 2019 when Prime Minister Modi laid the foundation stone for the tunnel. The tunnel road has the potential to be extremely important for promoting development and economic progress in the region.

In addition, Prime Minister Modi will lay the cornerstone for the massive Dibang Multipurpose Hydroelectric Project, which is projected to cost more than Rs.31,875 crore. After it is finished, the dam will be the highest in the nation and will be able to harness the power of the Dibang River to help the country meet its rapidly growing energy needs.

Under the 'Vibrant Village Programme,' Prime Minister Modi will also unveil numerous more infrastructure projects that will support rural development and promote sustainable growth, in addition to these enormous undertakings. Road, environmental, and tourism projects, as well as the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana's supply of basic services like housing, are some of these initiatives.

In addition, the PM will dedicate almost 1100 projects under the Jal Jeevan Mission and 170 telecom towers that will help over 300 communities in the state thanks to funding from the Universal Service Implementation Fund (USOF).

The day's activities will come to a head with a special public gathering at Indira Gandhi Park in Itanagar, where Prime Minister Modi is anticipated to speak to the people of Arunachal Pradesh and reiterate the government's steadfast support for the growth and prosperity of the area.
