Digital desk: Three persons from Kerala, a married couple and their friend, were found dead in a hotel room in Ziro town, Arunachal Pradesh, on Tuesday. According to some sources, the suicide note's message led police to assume that the couple had become victims of black magic.

When hotel personnel searched their room after their extended absence, they found their bodies.

According to authorities, the three seemed to have died from cuts on their wrists. Indian Express further reported that a note had been found in their hotel room.

The deceased have been identified as Naveen Thomas and his wife Devi B were Ayurvedic physicians from Kottayam district. The third victim was identified as Arya B Nair (29) a school teacher and a resident of Thiruvananthapuram.

The three reportedly checked into the hotel on March 28. However, the hotel staff stated that they were nowhere to be seen until April 1. This prompted suspicions, so staff members looked into it more.

All three of the visitors were found dead inside the room after hotel staff broke the locks and went in.

Devi B. was found on the ground with serious injuries on her wrist and neck, while Arya B. Nair was found dead in bed with signs of self-harm on her wrist. In the meantime, Naveen Thomas, who had a cut on his wrist, was found dead in the bathroom.

The district police team and forensic specialists after arriving at the scene quickly, started an investigation by gathering evidence from the room.

The incident was discovered when Arya's family filed a missing person's report at the Thiruvananthapuram police station. Subsequently, Arya, Naveen, and Devi flew to Guwahati before the three of them ended up in Arunachal Pradesh.

Devi is notably the daughter of renowned wildlife photographer Balan Madhavan. Talking to Manorama Online Madhavan said, “Devi and Naveen lived at his house in Kottayam. They traveled to Thiruvananthapuram only occasionally. I don’t know what to do and what to say."

Arunachal Pradesh police have reportedly found a suicide note in the room where the couple and their friend were found dead, according to the Malayalam website Mathrubhumi. The police were suspicious that the couple was a victim of black magic after reading the suicide letter.

“We have no debts. We don’t have any problems. We go to the place where we should be,” the suicide note signed by the three, read.

The public is reassured by SP Ziro, Keni Bagra, that every possibility will be thoroughly investigated to bring light to this tragic event. Post-mortem investigations are planned to shed more light on the events leading up to the untimely deaths.
