Digital Desk: Sourav Ganguly, a former captain of the Indian cricket team and brand ambassador for Tripura Tourism, invited tourists from all over the world to visit the "beautiful" state on Thursday.

Ganguly claimed that he has played a lot of cricket in Tripura and that he would like for everyone to see the state's temples, natural resources, and other aspects of the state.

"World Tourism Day is a very important part of everyone's life. On behalf of Tripura Tourism, I welcome people from all over India and the world to visit this beautiful state. Come and see the many aspects of this state, including temples, natural resources, and developments in Tripura. I have spent a lot of time in this state and played a lot of cricket here. So I welcome everyone to visit this beautiful state," Ganguly stated.

It needs to be mentioned that, Chief Minister Manik Saha on May announced that Ganguly would serve as the brand ambassador for Tripura Tourism.

In addition, once Ganguly accepted the offer, Saha spoke with him on the phone. The Tripura CM had posted on X, saying, "It gives me great pride that Shri Sourav Ganguly Ji, the former captain of the Indian cricket team, has agreed to serve as the Brand Ambassador of Tripura Tourism. I spoke with him on the phone today. I do not doubt that Shri Ganguly Ji's involvement will give the state's tourism industry a boost."

Ganguly expressed his wish that good cricket would be played during the World Cup 2023 for the enjoyment of all fans.

He stated, "This World Cup is going to be huge. An important competition is the World Cup. It is exciting because of how well India has been playing. For the next 45 days, we hope they keep playing excellent cricket."

Ganguly developed a strong and forceful leadership style while a member of the Indian cricket squad. In the summer of 1996, he faced England in his first Test match. 'Dada' is the affectionate moniker used to refer to him.

To grab attention, Ganguly scored a century in his maiden Test at Lord's. He continued to represent India in 311 One-Day Internationals and 113 Test matches. Over the course of his international career, he amassed 18,575 runs in all categories.

One of the primary drivers behind the development of the concept of day-night Test cricket in India is Ganguly. His efforts were successful as India defeated Bangladesh in the Eden Gardens' first-ever day-night Test match in 2019.
