    BSF ADG Mahesh Kumar Aggarwal Reviews Border Security in Meghalaya During Four-Day Visit
    The ADG reviewed security protocols aimed at preventing illegal infiltration and appreciated the BSF’s success in curbing cross-border criminal activities

    Digital Desk: Shri Mahesh Kumar Aggarwal, IPS, Additional Director General (ADG) of the Border Security Force (BSF), Eastern Command, spent four days in Meghalaya to examine preparations and security arrangements at the Indo-Bangladesh international border.

    On his visit, ADG Aggarwal examined a number of Border Outposts (BOPs) in West Jaintia Hills and East Khasi Hills. He talked with members of BSF, complimenting them on their hard work and expertise as they performed duties dealing with difficult terrain and bad weather.

    Sh. O.P. Upadhyay, the Inspector General (IG) of BSF Meghalaya Frontier, shared details on the border condition and recent activities to prevent smuggling, deployment strategies, and joint actions with local officials. The ADG reviewed efforts to keep secure borders, and he praised the BSF for stopping many illegal groups from committing crimes in India.

    While talking to BSF officers, the ADG focused on motivating them, keeping them alert, and maintaining their professional standards. He pointed out that civic action programs help build trust and teamwork with neighbors on the border.

    As well as inspecting field sites, Shri Aggarwal conducted planning sessions with senior representatives of the civil and police. At Raj Bhavan, Shillong, DG paid a visit to Shri Chandrashekhar H. Vijayashankar, the Hon’ble Governor of Meghalaya, and talked about security at the borders and how BSF was dealing with them.

    During a meeting with the Chief Secretary, Shri D.P. Wahlang of Meghalaya, the ADG discussed plans for border management, cooperation between the State and BSF and support offered by civil services.

    It confirmed that BSF is fully dedicated to national safety and to continuous actions that promote development and peace among residents along the border.
