Digital Desk: A district court in Uttar Pradesh has issued a notice to the Prime Minister's Office about Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Indian Army uniform that he wore during his visit to Kashmir last year. The statement was made after a petition was submitted in Prayagraj in which it was said that donning clothing or carrying a symbol used by a soldier, sailor, or airman is a crime punishable under Section 140 of the Indian Penal Code.
According to Dainik Bhaskar, district judge Nalin Kumar Srivastava issued the notice after hearing arguments from counsel Rakesh Nath Pandey, who filed the case under section 156(3) of the Code of Criminal Procedure (which empowers Magistrate to order investigation into a cognizable offence).
Pandey originally submitted the motion in December of last year, but it was denied by chief judicial magistrate Harendra Nath, who stated that the event occurred outside of the court's jurisdiction and that the issue could be heard by a magistrate with jurisdiction.

Pandey contested the decision in front of a district judge, who has now served notice on the PMO. The case will now be heard on March 2nd.

In a Diwali address to the soldiers in Nowshera, the prime minister emphasised the government's efforts to strengthen indigenous capabilities, noting that new border infrastructure has been developed to improve communication and military deployment.
"I have spent each Diwali with soldiers guarding our borders. Today, I have brought along with me the blessings of crores of Indians for our soldiers here," PM Modi had said.
Our soldiers are the 'suraksha kawach' of 'Maa Bharti'. It is because of you all that people of our country can sleep peacefully and there is happiness during festivals," he added.
PM Modi had praised the military' actions in the surgical strike, saying that numerous attempts to propagate terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir had been attempted, but they had received a proper response.
