Jaipur: In another case of a road accident, Twelve People were killed while six others were injured in a head collision between a truck and a jeep in Nagaur District in Rajasthan on Tuesday.
The collision occurred near Sri Bajali Temple on the Bikaner- Jodhpur highway and out of 12 killed in the accident 8 were women.
All the passengers traveling in the jeep were residents of Sajjan Kheda and Daulatpur village of Ujjain District in Madhya Pradesh.
According to reports, the victims were returning after offering prayers at Ramdevra Temple near Pokhran, when the jeep collided with a
truck attempting to over-take a vehicle in Nagaur District, which killed eight passengers on to spot and four on the way to the hospital.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot condoled the incident and tweeted, “The death of pilgrims returning to MP in a horrific road accident in Sri Balaji area of Nagaur is extremely sad. My condolences to the bereaved families, may God give them strength in this difficult time, and may the soul of the departed rest in peace. Praying for the speedy recovery of the injured.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chouhan has announced ex-gratia of Rs 2 Lakh each to the family members of everyone from Ujjain who lost their lives on the road accident, and the state government will also bear the treatment for the injured.
