Live updates on the Delhi MCD Election Results for 2022: Close competition between the BJP and AAP
The trends contradict exit poll predictions of a landslide victory for the AAP and a setback for the BJP, which has ruled the powerful civic body since 2007.

Digital Desk: According to early trends in the counting of votes cast in the Delhi municipal corporation elections, the BJP and AAP are neck and neck, while the Congress is battling to reach double digits. According to Zee News, the AAP is leading in 124 seats, with the BJP trailing in 120.

The trends contradict exit poll predictions of a landslide victory for the AAP and a setback for the BJP, which has ruled the powerful civic body since 2007.

According to an Aaj Tak-Axis My India poll, the AAP may receive 149-171 wards, while the BJP receives 69-91 wards. According to a Times Now-ETG poll, AAP would win 146-156 wards, while the BJP will win 84-94. According to the News X-Jan Ki Baat exit poll, the AAP would win 159-175 wards, while the BJP will take 70-92. All three polls gave the Congress 10 wards or less, with some receiving 5-9.

On December 4, a high-stakes election to the Municipal Corporation of Delhi's (MCD) 250 wards was held, sealing the electoral fate of 1,349 candidates in voting machines. In the elections, a voter turnout of 50.48 percent was recorded.
The outcome of this election, which was widely billed as a three-cornered fight between a vibrant AAP, a confident BJP, and a hopeful Congress, could have consequences beyond the national capital. Both the AAP and the BJP have expressed confidence that they will win the elections, while the Congress attempts to reclaim lost ground.
