Digital Desk: Assam cabinet member Pijush Hazarika attacked state Congress leader Kamalakhya Purkayastha on Friday, saying that the latter's actions,  if spoken out, would offend everyone.

This comes after Kamalakhya Purkayastha made a remark claiming that "Syndicate raj" will continue in the state as long as Himanta Biswa Sarma is the chief minister.

Pijush Hazarika stated in a statement to the media, "I do not want to speak much about Kamalakhya Purkayastha because he has a very bad past...he was accused in one of these incidents that if I say only one word you all will be disgusted,"

Hazarika further said that Kamalakhya Purkayastha frequently visited his official apartment and took something the other.

Earlier a war of words erupted between Bhupen Borah and BJP Minister Pijush Hazarika, as accusations of promoting "bad culture" took centre stage in the political arena. According to Minister Hazarika, Bhupen Borah is the main proponent of the culture for which shredding clothes is a sign. The Minister's remarks follow an incident in which Bora tore his clothes during the Mangaldai eviction drive.

Hazarika noted, "If the fabric of our society is being tainted by such actions, the primary purveyor of this negative culture is Bhupen Borah. He tore his clothes while attempting to evict encroachers. This incident is not forgotten, and his actions reflect on his own character."
