Digital Desk: In a significant organizational shift, the BJP has removed Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari from its top decision-making council. On the other hand, former Karnataka CM BS Yediyurappa and former Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal have been added to the party's newly reorganized parliamentary board, which now includes several new faces. The parliamentary board, the highest decision-making body in the BJP, makes decisions about chief ministers, state heads, and other key positions.
The BJP Parliamentary Board also includes JP Nadda, Narendra Modi, Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, K Laxman, Iqbal Singh Lalpura, Sudha Yadav, Satyanarayan Jatiya, and BL Santosh.
Notably, the biggest surprise in this exercise is Nitin Gadkari's exclusion from the important committee. Gadkari is one of the most senior ministers in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's ministry, and the BJP has always kept its prior presidents involved in the decision-making process. Rajnath Singh, a former BJP politician and the present Union Defense Minister, has rejoined the parliamentary board.
K Laxman, the national head of the BJP's OBC Morcha, who has been striving to gather support in Telangana, and Devendra Fadnavis, the deputy chief minister of Maharashtra, who was key in establishing the coalition with the Eknath Shinde camp that ended in the toppling of the Uddhav Thackeray administration, have also been promoted.
The Parliamentary Board of the Bharatiya Janata Party is responsible for making daily decisions on behalf of the national executive. The national executive creates the highest decision-making body, which is made up of the party president and 10 other people. The board regulates the activities of the party's parliamentary and legislative bodies. It also oversees and directs all organizational divisions below the national executive.
