It is also planning a march from Parliament and 'Prime Minister House Gherao' to Rashtrapati Bhavan to protest the issues.
Members of the party's working committee (CWC) and senior leadership would be accountable to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's house.
The "record-breaking" inflation rate, combined with a "huge" increase in the prices of many essential commodities, particularly pulses, edible oil, LPG, petrol, and diesel, has burdened the common people to an "intolerable" extent, according to Congress leader KC Venugopal in a letter to the party's state and district units.
"The nation is also going through a period of extremely high unemployment, both in urban and rural areas, additionally, the contentious, ill-conceived, and hurriedly drafted Agnipath scheme, which entails numerous risks, has undermined the long-standing traditions and ethos of the armed forces and destroyed the aspirations of millions of unemployed youths," the letter reads.
A debate on the price increase is expected to take place in Parliament on Monday, August 1st, according to reports. Congress and other opposition parties want a parliamentary discussion on the government's handling of the price increase.
