Digital Desk: As the national capital Delhi is all set for the Assembly polls on February 5, the political battle among three major political parties AAP, BJP, and the Congress has been escalating with all the blame games and accusations.
Delhi is currently witnessing heated battles for a thrilling triangular contest among AAP, BJP, and the Congress. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is eyeing its third consecutive win, while Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) will give its best efforts to return to the national capital after 26 years. Congress is also waiting to regain its position following its previous electoral setbacks in Delhi.
As the national capital is gearing up for the Assembly election within a week, the Delhi people are witnessing poster wars, campaign jingles, public rallies, and campaigns.
The Congress ruled Delhi for 15 years from 1998 to 2013 under the leadership of Sheila Dikshit, the longest-serving female chief minister of any Indian state. In the 2013 elections of the Delhi Legislative Assembly, she was defeated by BJP.
The most powerful among all the political parties, BJP is anticipating to recapture the throne to end its 26-year drought. BJP's successful all-seven-seat win in the 2014 and 2019 General Elections has made them confident to aim for a successful result in the upcoming election.
The Kejriwal-led AAP won the 2015 and 2020 Assembly Elections with 67 and 62 seats respectively. However, the party has experienced several ups and downs in the recent past because of different corruption cases. Arvind Kejriwal was also detained in the liquor policy case, which led to his resignation from the Chief Minister's position.
