Digital Desk: - Just as Nitish Kumar, the chief minister of Bihar,
announced his resignation, breaking the coalition with the BJP, Chirag Paswan,
the former leader of the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP), challenged him to run in
the state's midterm elections. Mr. Paswan, who has been charged with working
with the BJP to undermine the JD(U), stated, "He was reduced to just 43
seats in the past elections, would win zero next time."
Chirag Paswan requested the imposition of the President's Rule
in Bihar and accused Nitish Kumar of insulting the people's mandate for the
second time.
The youthful man, who is the son of former federal minister Ram
Vilas Paswan, claimed Nitish Kumar's haughtiness was to blame for Bihar's
problems. Mr. Paswan claimed that the Bihar Chief Minister had no regard for moral
standards because he had not contributed to state development and lacked
credibility.
"I had forewarned Nitish Kumar ji before the Vidhan Sabha
elections that he could change his mind at any time after the polls. It appears
that day has arrived today, "said he.
Mr. Paswan had yesterday reacted angrily to the term
"Chirag model," which was coined by Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan,
the party's current national president. Mr. Paswan had fielded candidates in
all the seats contested by the JD(U) in the 2020 assembly elections, many of
whom were BJP rebels, which saw its tally plummet from over 70 to under 45 five
years ago.
In response to Lalan Singh's accusation, Mr. Paswan stated
that he had previously informed the BJP that he would be running unopposed because
he "cannot cooperate with Nitish Kumar at any cost."
