Guwahati : Showing confidence of the massive support people have given towards Congress, Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Ripun Bora was confident of a win and claimed that Congress will win 8 to 10 Lok Sabha Seats out of total 14 seats in Assam.
Addressing the media, Bora said, “Increasing number of voter turnout indicated that people want change. Also people have cast conscience vote in favour of Congress.”
Trading guns on BJP, the Assam Congress president said, “BJP has faced challenges in this elections and most of the intellectuals have supported Congress.”
Bora thanked party members as well as the voter. He also extended his gratitude towards media and said, “Assam’s media played an unbiased role in this elections except for few media houses.”
Ripun Bora also attacked the Election Commission of India (ECI) accusing it of becoming a “puppet” in the hands of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
“The ECI is acting as a puppet in the hands of the BJP. It is not acting in a fair and unbiased way. This is shameful for the Election Commission. We highly condemn the role of the Commission, both at the Centre as well as State, including CEO Assam,” Bora said.
