New Delhi: Amidst the Diwali festivities, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has hit out at the central government on Wednesday over the unstopping price rise of petrol and essential commodities in the country.
Criticizing the government through his Twitter account, he urged the government to be little more sensitive towards the citizens. He also said it is the time for Diwali celebrations, however, inflation is at its all time high today.
“It’s Diwali. Inflation is at its peak. It’s not a joke. I wish the Modi government had a sensitive heart for the public.”
In the recent past, Gandhi and the Congress party has been extremely critical towards the central government over fuel prices. The opposition has also alleged the government of extortion and corruption in the name of rising prices of petrol and diesel.
Earlier, this week he termed the government as ‘pickpockets’ and urged the citizens to be aware of them. He also used a hashtag “#TaxExtortion” while rebuking the government.
