"Congress has failed due to its poor leadership," says Sherman Ali; Bhupen Borah responds

Guwahati: Continuing his relentless attack on the Congress party, suspended Congress MLA Sherman Ali said that his party failed wholly due to the poor leadership within the party seniors. "Congress is run by a bunch of unprofessionals who rarely follow party protocols. I would urge Jitendra Singh to tighten his grip over such leaders," said Sherman Ali.

Sherman Ali made this statement few hours ago while the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee was addressing a press meet in Kalakshetra.

The disgruntled former Baghbor MLA also said that the party is run by a bunch of unprofessionals who has been pressing him to take his stand back from the Population Control Policy (initiated by the ruling party BJP).

"Those who have dung embedded in their heads will only speak against the policy," added Sherman Ali.

Slamming Sherman Ali for his precarious statements targeting the Congress party, APCC (Assam Pradesh Congress Committee) President Bhupen Borah said that no leader can be greater than his political party. "Our party has been following the ideals set forth by our seniors and have been following the rules entirely," said Bhupen Borah.

"If our party finds any one of its members going against the party rules and its ideals, then we have the power to suspend or remove that member from the party, and which we did in the case of Sherman Ali," added Borah.

"He hasn't replied yet to our show cause notice, hence he is still under suspension. Otherwise he is still a part of the party," said Borah.

APCC had suspended its MLA Sherman Ali Ahmed for “repeatedly violating” the party’s discipline. APCC president Bhupen Kumar Borah, by an order, had suspended Sherman Ali for making “provocative comments” against the martyrs.
