"Tripling will be allowed after fuel price rises to Rs. 200 per liter": Bhabesh Kalita

Guwahati: Clarifying people's dilemma about tripling in two-wheelers, BJP state President Bhabesh Kalita stated that tripling would be allowed when petrol price rises to Rs. 200 per litre in the state.

Kalita, elucidating its previous statement at Tamulpur on Sunday, said, "Tripling in two-wheelers will be allowed after fuel price rises to Rs. 200 per liter in the state and that also after taking permission from the government to allow three persons in one bike. They can even seek permission to manufacture three-seater in two-wheeler vehicles."

Meanwhile, replying to a query asked about the rise in commodities prices, including mustard oil, Kalita asserted that the price of the mustard would reduce post-harvesting of mustard cultivation.

"This year, the cultivation of mustard has not started after we will start and the crop is harvested, the price of the mustard oil will automatically reduce," stated Kalita.

Notably, the petrol price has already crossed Rs. 100 per litre a few days ago. Today, the price of petrol in Guwahati is Rs. 102.12 per litre, and diesel price is Rs. 94.70 per litre. Moreover, the price of a 14,2 kg Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinder is Rs. 948.50 in the city.
