Digital Desk: The Crime Branch made a significant arrest on Wednesday of two women drug peddlers from the Rehabari area of Guwahati.
Reports claimed that the Paltan Bazar Police Station's Rehabari area carried out an operation by the crime branch, which apprehended drug dealers attempting to sell drugs near an AState Bank of India (SBI) ATM.
The crime branch seized four cell phones, twenty fake Indian currency notes in the denomination of $500, and 145 vials of illegal substances from their possession.
It is to be noted that Sarifa Khatun and Sajida Begum have been identified as drug peddlers. At the Paltan Bazar Police Station, they are presently undergoing questioning.
Tuesday night, the Comfort Home Hotel in Lalmati, Borsojai, Jagaran Path, under Basistha PS, was raided by the Special Task Force (STF) Assam, in light of secret information. One person was taken into custody in connection with the incident.
Along with fake Indian currency totaling 280 numbers in the Rs 500 denomination, two cell phones, one FICN printer, 21 sparkling tapes, two transparent book covers, and one FICN printing machine were also found by the STF Assam. One HP Deskjet 2332 printer, one ream of white A4 paper, one utility knife, one scale, and 38 wrapped numbers in green Five numbers of 500 FICN were wrapped in a bundle of white sheets the size of 500 rupees, which was utilised for the 500 denomination in the upper layer. Four numbers of Rs 500 FICN were bundled, one bundle of white papers the size of 500 rupees used for 500 denomination in the upper layer, etc.
