A 12-hour bandh is being demanded by six ethnic groups tomorrow

Additionally, it has chosen to stage a "dharna" in Delhi on November 30.

    Digital
    Desk:
In order to push for Scheduled Tribe (ST) designation, the Soy Janagosthi
Joutha Mancha (Joint Platform of Six Ethnic Tribes) has requested a 12-hour
Assam bandh on Tuesday, November 15. Adivasi, Chutia, Koch-Rajbongshi, Matak,
Moran, and Tai-Ahom are the six ethnic tribes that make up the Soy Janagosthi
Joutha Mancha. The BJP-led governments in Assam and at the Center have been
accused of "playing with the sentiments of the six minorities,"
prompting the bandh. Additionally, it has chosen to stage a "dharna"
in Delhi on November 30. Because Adivasi hero Birsa Munda's birthday occurs on
that day, the Assam Adivasi Sanmilan (AAS) has requested the Soy Janagosthi
Joutho Mancha to end the Assam bandh.

    According
to AAS General Secretary David Horo, Birsa Munda led an uprising against the
British in the 18th century, and his birth date has been awarded the status of
a "Gaurav Divas." He claims that Assam also celebrates the occasion.
Horo declared that Soy Janagosthi Joutho Mancha's demand has the complete
backing of the AAS. In light of Gaurav Divas, he added, "the Assam bandh
call for November 15 should be cancelled." Ne Now News reported this in an
    article.
