AASU updates outlook, No more upper age limit for top positions

According to the revised rule, AASU's chief advisor, Dr. Samujjal Bhattacharjya, will continue his position.

Digital Desk: The decision to lift the age restriction for senior posts was one of several important ones taken to offer the student organisation All Assam Students' Union (AASU) a new perspective.

One of the most important decisions made by the student body's senior brass during the ongoing AASU convention was to abolish the upper age limit for positions such as "chief advisor" and "advisor."

According to the ruling, AASU's chief advisor, Dr. Samujjal Bhattacharjya, will continue his position.

Concurrently, at the convention, it was determined that age restrictions and educational requirements will not be applicable to students asked to join the organisation behind the historic Assam Accord.

Among the other major decisions made during the AASU convention was the decision to abolish the sub-division level AASU unit and replace it with a group of three to four senior invited members going forward.

Additionally, it was determined that going forward, an annual general meeting will be held, and the AASU conference would take place every four years.
