AIUDF's Political Trajectory Has Been on the Decline?

Since the formation of the BJP government in the state and the country, Congress and other opposition parties have been calling it the BJP's 'B team'.

Digital Desk: One of the most controversial and talked about parties in the state is the AIUDF party. Politics in the state is often seen heating up around the Dhubri MP Badruddin Ajmal-led party. The first and foremost complaint raised against Ajmal and the party is communal politics. There has been a serious allegation that the party is playing communal politics around the minority population of the state.

Since the formation of the BJP government in the state and the country, Congress and other opposition parties have been calling it the BJP's 'B team'. Raijor Dal president Akhil Gogoi has been opposing Ajmal and the AIUDF party in a very outspoken language.

Ajmal was also seen staying in the campaign rallies for the recently held Lok Sabha elections in the state. The minority voters present in Akhil's presence even took an oath to vote against Ajmal. What exactly does this prove?

Is Ajmal and the AIUDF party losing ground in state politics?

It is worth mentioning that if you look at the results of the Lok Sabha elections ten years ago, the party managed to win a total of three seats in the state in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. Badruddin Ajmal in Dhubri, Sirajuddin Ajmal in Barpeta, and Radheshyam Biswas in Karimganj got seats.

The party then won only one seat in 2019, where Ajmal won only in Dhubri.

Moreover, despite thousands of hurdles in 2021, the state Congress came with an alliance with the AIUDF party. But in the assembly elections, the state Congress had to face a bad phase for this alliance.

That is why Bhupen Bora is moving forward by making two regional forces namely Raijor Dal and Asam Jatiya Parishad (AJP) allies in 24. The alliance is now seen to have given a unique momentum to the regional politics of the state.

On the other hand, the fear of defeat has made Ajmal afraid. Maybe that's why Ajmal is unable to control his behaviour. In one of his campaigns for LS polls, Ajmal was seen throwing mike and raising hands on his party members.

So, now questions like 'Will Ajmal and the AIUDF team end here?' How many seats will Ajmal get this time? or will Ajmal return home with an empty hand? arising amid the political clash.
