    After Bihu, Bagurumba dance aims to enter in Guinness World Record

    Digital Desk: Assam is now preparing to set another Guinness World Record after entering its name in the Guinness Book of World Records for the largest bihu dance performance with over 11,000 artists. 


    Assam's Bodo community aims to bring its folk dance, Bagurumba, to the global stage.


    After Bihu's remarkable entry into the Guinness World Records, the Bagurumba Dance of the Bodo community will now attempt for the World Record with more than 20,000 artists.  


    "You all know that after achieving the biggest Bihu dance performance at a single venue in Guwahati on April 14, engraving its name on the world stage, the government is now planning to bring forth the Bodo community's folk dance Bagurumba dance on the global platform, aiming for a Guinness World Record," All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) advisor Kusum Swargiary told reporters.


    Reportedly, various Bodo organizations, including the Bodo Sahitya Sabha, have already begun planning for the massive dance event which is expected to take place next year.


    The announcement comes after Assam CMHimanta Biswa Sarma declared the government's initiative to promote the Bodo community's folk dance to the international platform.
