Digital Desk: Amritpal Singh's parents met him on Thursday at the Dibrugarh central jail, a prison official reported. Amritpal Singh is a self-styled preacher of Khalistani Islam.

Since April 23, when he was arrested in Rhode village in Punjab's Moga district, the Waris Punjab De (WPD) leader has been imprisoned in the Dibrugarh jail.

Tarsen Singh and Balwinder Kaur, the parents of Amritpal, arrived at the Dibrugarh airport earlier on Thursday. They then went directly to the jail, where they visited their son after securing the required authorization from the jail administration.
Amritpal's wife Kiranpal Kaur met him at the jail in Dibrugarh on May 4. She was accompanied by Daljit Singh Kalsi's family, another prisoner who is Amritpal's assistant.

Notably, nine additional Amritpal associates have been detained at the Dibrugarh jail since March, including his close aide Papalpreet and uncle Harjit Singh. The extreme preacher has reportedly been housed in a separate cell, according to jail sources. He has already been questioned by agents from the central agency.
