Digital Desk: In a major development, the mysterious death of Anushka Saikia, the young woman found dead in her rented residence in Hengrabari, Guwahati, has been officially declared a case of suicide, according to reports released on Thursday.

Police investigations revealed that Anushka took her own life due to what they termed as a 'misunderstanding.' It was clarified that neither the owner of the rented house nor the domestic maid had any involvement in the tragic incident.

Rahul Hazarika, the lover of the deceased, who was initially summoned for questioning as a suspect, has been released by the Dispur police after confirming that all the facts matched his statements. The police disclosed that Anushka's last message to Rahul at 10:38 pm on Saturday read, "You will not meet me anymore." Unfortunately, by the time Rahul saw the message, Anushka had already taken her own life.

The maid, Junu Borah, provided additional information, stating that Anushka had skipped dinner the night before her death. After thorough verification, the police concluded that Anushka Saikia died by suicide and ruled out the possibility of foul play.

The tragic incident unfolded on November 26 in the Hengrabari area of Guwahati, where Anushka Saikia was discovered dead under mysterious circumstances in her rented residence. Originally from Assam's Dhemaji, the young woman had been working as a beautician in a nearby beauty parlour for the past one year.

The Dispur Police have assured the public that a comprehensive investigation was initiated into the matter to ensure a thorough understanding of the events leading to Anushka's untimely demise.
