Digital Desk: Transgender advocate Swati Bidhan Baruah, who resides in Guwahati, Assam, claims to have filed a rape case against the man who was found hanging inside his home in the Pandu area of Guwahati on May 29, 2023. This happened after her name was connected to the Friday morning purported suicide case.

The deceased, Mansur Alam, was thereafter taken into custody by the All Woman Police, Pan Bazar, in compliance with a notification under section 50A CrPC.

A case was registered against Mansur under 376(2 (f)/420/386/325/450/354 D/ 506/509/120B of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), R/W Section 67 IT Act 2000 and R/W Section 18 (d) of Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Act, 2019.

As a result, the court sent him to judicial custody.

After Mansur was given bail, Swati Bidhan Baruah contested its legitimacy in court.

Mansur's family had earlier claimed that the young man had worked for the previous 1.5 years at Swati Bidhan Baruah's home, where the latter had subsequently had an extramarital affair with the young man.

However, there were problems in their marriage; according to the family, Mansur suffered long-term mental torture at the hands of Baruah.

Meanwhile, an angry mob set fire to several documents and destroyed Swati Bidhan Baruah's house.

After arriving on the site, Jalukbari police from Maligaon took charge of the situation.

On the other hand, a mob of angry people gathered at the Jalukbari police station and called for the immediate arrest of Swati Bidhan Baruah.

In relation to the incident, Jalukbari police arrested transgender Swati Bidhan Baruah.

After a contentious incident in Maligaon, the Maligaon police subsequently reported her to the All Women Police, Pan Bazar.
